Pets can provide interesting photography subjects from cuteness to the dramatic. The best way to photograph a pet is to have a clear concept and style of how you would like to illustrate the animal. For example should it be an action shot, sleeping, informative, attentiveness, or just plan cuteness.
Also stay relaxed and quiet. Approach calmly and slowing, this will ensure the pet is at ease with you and the camera. You may need to use hand gestures or teats to get the animals intention.
Try to use natural light if possible as many animals have highly reflective eyes. If flash is necessary then try to use slide lighting or bounce it off other surfaces to avoid red/green eye problems. Focus on the eyes always and above all have fun with your camera and your pet subject friend. Until next time “Happy Snapping”.
